    Who Sells?

Have you ever looked at your loan process and thought who was really responsible for sales? Is it just you? Or your boss, your bosses boss or the president and CEO? Are you ready for the answer?

    It’s everybody in the process.

That’ right. From the sales person, set up people, underwriter, processor, closer to the attorney – they are all responsible for sales. Even the receptionist who answers the phone at your office is responsible for sales. Even your assistant is responsible for sales.

Why is that? Because anyone who touches the loan in the process, in any way, can affect the speed at which the loan is in their part of the process. If they slow it down or make a mistake, guess what? Service suffers. If it’s a one time mistake, well maybe we can let it go. But what if it keeps happening or loans keep getting stuck? The customer will go somewhere else and that just took potential sales somewhere else.

So where ever you sit and whatever function you perform, no matter how small or trivial it may seem, it’s an integral part of the sales process. Remember, companies exist for only one reason: To sell something. And employees/associates exist for only one reason: To help the company sell something. When you get that straight, everyone’s job is easier and more enjoyable. I believe in you!
